Surgery Consultation

Q. How do I arrange a surgery consultation?

A. Consultation is by appointment. Please phone or come personally to reception to make an appointment

Q. How quickly can I usually get an appointment?

A. We aim to give you an appointment within 2 working days. Often you can be seen sooner than that.

Q. What if I have an urgent or emergency condition?

A. We have "emergency appointments" available every day for just such conditions. Please tell the receptionist that you need to see the doctor the same day. Please do not abuse the system though.

Q. How long do I have to wait in the waiting room to see the doctor?

A. We aim to see you within 10 minutes of your appointment time, although most patients are seen much sooner.

Telephone Consultation

Q. What is a telephone consultation?

A. This is a new concept - instead of a face-to-face consultation you may be offered a telephone consultation for minor problems and queries. This saves you and the doctor time.

Q. How do I arrange a telephone consultation?

A. Telephone for one!

Q.Can I still see the doctor after the telephone consultation?

A. Of course you may - or the doctor may ask you to come and see him anyway if the problem needs to be sorted out face-to-face.

Acupuncture Consultation (for NHS and Private Patients)

Q. How do I arrange an acupuncture consultation?

A. Dr Ooi arranges his own acupuncture appointments. Please phone or call at reception, leave your details, and Dr Ooi will call you back to arrange an appointment.

Q. What is the normal waiting time for an acupuncture appointment?

A. It can vary from the same week to 2-3 weeks ahead.

Q. How much does it cost me?

A. For existing patients of Centenary Surgery requesting acupuncture treatment there is a flat fee of £20 per session. For private patients please refer to the section on acupuncture within this website. Please click here.
